Windsong Midwifery, LLC "The Birth Place" Deb has been employed as a paramedic for 14 years by the Anchorage Fire Department and has instructed firefighters and medics alike in emergency childbirth and pediatric care. Her teaching has helped to ‘normalize’ the thinking of emergency responders in their anticipation of birth occurring outside of a hospital. She has taught numerous classes all over the state in all aspects of emergency medicine. Her vast knowledge and experience have made her invaluable to her colleagues and to the women she loves to serve.   Deb with Saige and Zach Chandler (and baby # 3) Pam served for the first two terms on the midwives licensing board after its inception and on the national board (The North American Registry of Midwives) for eight years. She functioned as the liaison to state agencies and international governments regarding the regulation of midwives. She co-authored the book which became the national standard for midwifery teaching and testing, The Practical Skills Guide for Midwifery. Pam is the owner and designer of the innovative LABOR LINK.She has been active in EMS as a provider and instructor since 1980.   Pam with daughter-in-law, Vivian Weaver, and her two grandsons whom she delivered: Adam, age 2 and Wyatt, age 6 months Pam and Deb have been serving Alaskan families for over 20 years. They have listened to women and their families and have helped to customize their birth experiences, focusing on the sanctity and the safety of birth. They are licensed by the State of Alaska as Certified Direct-entry Midwives (CDMs).
